Bachelor Project – 6th Semester Industrial Design, Aalborg University

How can physical strain and the risk of workplace injuries be reduced in repetitive manual production tasks? This question formed the foundation for the development of DIVISUS – a pneumatic tool designed to assist operators in safely and efficiently removing excess plastic from blow-molded products.
DIVISUS is the result of an iterative, user-centered design process focused on ergonomics, safety, and industrial integration. The project was carried out in close collaboration with Dantoy, where employee workflows and production requirements were analyzed and translated into specific design criteria.
The solution combines pneumatic force with a two-step safety mechanism, ergonomic operation, and adaptability to different product sizes. Emphasis was placed on robustness, safety, and easy integration into existing workflows without compromising precision.
This project provided valuable insights into balancing technical functionality with user needs and production constraints. Throughout the process, I developed a strong interest in areas such as FEM analysis, LCA, and technical documentation.
